* This is a private event. You can watch it online. Do not come to the cinema. *

Due to the rejection of our referendum for the insertion of an extracalendary
leap month named Sixtember between August and September 2020(1), which we
regret, the current year is coming to an end today. In the last few days, we
have opened an online store(2), founded a publishing house(3) and established
a university(4), all of which are currently closed, but may, depending on the
current situation, welcome you in the coming year. 2021 may not be the best
name for it(5), but we decided against starting another pointless petition.
There were still a few undelivered deliverables related to our events on August
22 and 23(6), and we have, with one exception, included them below(7). While we
were at it, we have also set up new mailing list for non-pirate-cinema-related
activities - of which there will be several, see above - and you are welcome to
join it(8). Finally, in case you are following the Chinese zodiac, or are
planning to follow it in the future, which we recommend, then the Year of the
Golden Ox will begin on February 12(9), and you can safely ignore this message.
(1) We have taken down the website, but the basic idea was: the Berlin Senate
inserts 28 days, named Sixtember 1 through Sixtember 28, between August 31,
2020 and September 1, 2020. (In 2022, the Senate would simply remove the
month of February to get back in sync with the rest of the world.) This
would have cost the city next to nothing, and would have given everybody an
entire month without useless appointments, birthdays, holiday arrangements,
openings, so-called "projects", and other todos. We are quite certain that,
had our proposal been adopted, Dear Virus would be a distant memory today.
Along with the failed referendum for the renaming of "Berlin Brandenburg
Airport Willy Brandt (BER)" to "Tim Renner International Airport (TIM)",
and the construction of an ugly castle just southwest of Alexanderplatz,
this was definitely one of the low points in Berlin in the year 2020.

(5) 2020 was a pretty good name. If you are looking for even better names, check
out https://thegermanissue.com/texts/what_is_the_name_of_the_year_2020.html.

(7) In case you are still waiting for the release of our interactive slideshow
titled "What happened to sharing, what happened to caring?", initially
scheduled for October 22, then we have to inform you that further research
revealed that, in fact, *so much* happened to sharing and caring that we
decided to postpone the publication of our findings semi-indefinitely.
We still owe you the announcement of two horsemen (see footnote 6), and
these are Malice and Stupidity (they count as one horseman, since they can
be hard to tell apart) and Class Blindness (which is the common inability
to perceive or correctly identify one's own or someone else's social class).
Further, we had promised you some extra footage from the shooting of "Watch
Pirate Cinema Burn 50 Euros brutto Live on Twitch", and today, we are happy
to announce that these extras - deleted scenes and making of - have already
been online for three weeks. As always, you can watch them on our website:
https://piratecinema.org/videos/watch_pirate_cinema_burn. Commentary track
and English subs are still missing, but we have been working on a soundtrack
instead, a sneak preview of which is also online, same URL as above. The
track is John Lennon's "Isolation", performed by Eric D. Clark in 2002, and
you can purchase it at https://ericdclark.bandcamp.com/track/is0lati0n.
(8) To subscribe, send a mail to subscribe@list.rolux.org. More information,
including a list of lists, can be found at https://rolux.org/lists. We are
also working on a map of maps, and once we are done with it, we are going
to send a notice to the list for non-pirate-cinema-related activities.
