Eine der Thesen, die Sie oft von uns zu hören bekommen, ist, dass Computerspiele
begonnen haben, den Platz einzunehmen, den im 20. Jahrhundert das Kino innehatte
- den Platz des "Leitmediums", das die avanciertesten Bilder der Gegenwart zeigt
und in dem das gesamtgesellschaftliche Imaginäre am deutlichsten erkennbar wird.
Der am 16. November erschienene First-Person-Shooter Half-Life 2 dürfte wohl das
meistdiskutierte, längsterwartete und höchstbewertete Computerspiel aller Zeiten
sein. Im Anhang finden Sie eine kurze Geschichte von Half-Life 2 in 42 Kapiteln,
von den andauernd verschobenen Release Dates bis zum Diebstahl des Source Codes.
Wie schon bei Doom 3 (siehe http://www.piratecinema.org/index.php?page=20040808)
werden wir etwa 90 Minuten lang einige der sehenswertesten Levels vorführen. Als
Vorfilm gibt es einen "Speed Run" durch den gesamten ersten Teil des Spiels. Und
wer selbst mal möchte, darf im Anschluss selbst mal. Unsere Bar bleibt geöffnet.
(Übrigens: Falls auch Sie fliessend Blocksatz mit einer konstanten Breite von 80
Zeichen schreiben können, dieses grossartige Talent aber nur in privaten E-Mails
